Dental Health Check-ups

It is important for everyone to attend regular dental check-ups, the frequency will depend on your individual circumstances but is generally every 6 – 12 months.

At the check-up your dentist will ask you

  • How healthy you feel your teeth and gums are
  • Whether you have any dental problems/concerns
  • Your general medical status
  • Whether you are you happy with the appearance of your smile?

They will then carry out a thorough examination of your mouth including

  • The outside of the mouth, for example glands
  • The inside the mouth/cheeks,tongue roof and floor of mouth
  • Your teeth
  • Any previous dental work you may have had such as fillings, crowns etc
  • Your gums
  • The presence of plaque
  • Your jawbone as it plays a big part in oral health, holding your teeth firmly inposition
  • Check for signs of Oral Cancer

We will discuss our findings with you and give you advice on any treatment that will help improve or maintain your dental health.

We will also advise you when to arrange your next Dental Health Check.
